This mantra belongs to Hindu scriptures and is dedicated to Lord Ganesha. In the late Upanshidas Ganesha was celebrated as Brahman. The mantra is also known as Sri Ganpati Atharva Sirsha or the Ganpati Upanishad. Devotees of Ganesha chant this mantra the most among them all. The entire text of the mantra or shloka is written over the entrance in the temple of Astavinayaka Ganesha shrine in Ranjangaon. People are not sure about the exact time when this mantra was originated but it is been estimated that it was between the 17th and 18th centuries.
त्वं गुणत्रयातीतः।
त्वमवस्थात्रयातीतः।
त्वं कालत्रयातीतः।
त्वं देहत्रयातीतः।
Translation:
tvaṃ guṇatrayātītaḥ।
tvamavasthātrayātītaḥ।
tvaṃ kālatrayātītaḥ।
tvaṃ dehatrayātītaḥ।
What does Atharvashirsha mean?
Atharva refers to the firmness of the intellect that points towards one’s realization of the divine God. The mantra explains that by chanting it one could achieve his life goals, which is mentioned in the Hindu scriptures.

The mantra enables the individual to remain free in spirit and liberated from all the sins. It is believed that chanting the mantra on a regular basis can help in wiping the consequences of sins committed by an individual.
The shloka should not be recited by those who do not believe in the Lord Ganesha. The person who does that to fulfill his or her personal greed is deemed to be a great sinner.
